Hello! I’m Dianne Davis. This website has a great selection of fabric, thread, batting, and more.
I started sewing on my mom’s lap as a child and have been sewing ever since. I started making apparel in junior high home economics class and have never stopped creating. I continued to take sewing classes through high school and college, majoring in home economics with an emphasis on housing and interior design. During high school and college, I made everything from clothing for family members and costumes for school musicals to curtains, draperies, pillows and other home decor and craft items.
I started quilting in 2014 and started machine embroidery in 2016. Like many of us, I watched a Missouri Star Quilt Company video of Jenny Doan on Facebook, showing how easy it is to get started in quilting, and I decided to try it. Since then, I’ve been in what I call “a very happy black hole” and have made over 40 twin to king-size quilts, countless child and lap-sized quilts, and other quilted items, including Christmas tree skirts, Christmas stockings, ornaments, and more.
My career has been in advertising/marketing, and I’ve owned and managed a full-service advertising agency since 1997. Visit DianneDavisConsulting.com and DDCpromotions.com to learn more about my business. I manage website content for many clients, sell screen-printed and embroidered apparel and promotional items and provide an array of other advertising and marketing services.
In early fall 2023, I wondered if I could build an e-commerce website with fabric and notions if it would support my own quilty hobby. The online store was an instant success and is now my nearly full-time job. We had a booth at the OPQG Show in late September 2024 that confirmed I’m on the right track with this new business venture. After the show, we set up my office for in-store shopping and held a Black Friday open house. We’ve been open for in-store shopping ever since. In late November, we doubled our store space and now have a small classroom space that will be used for open sewing and classes on beginning quilting, bag making, and more.
I’ve been a member of the Ozarks Piecemakers Quilt Guild since 2018 and served on its board of directors from February 2020 to May 2023. I continue volunteering with the guild by managing its social media accounts and helping with advertising tasks for its biannual OPQG Quilt Show. My developer and I built the guild’s website, and I continue to create and manage all website and social media content for the guild.
My hubby, Damon, is fantastic in every way. He’s super supportive of the fabric store, is an awesome husband and is the number-one favorite Papa to our 10 grandkiddos.
Happy creating!
Dianne
