About

Dianne & (hubby) Damon

Hello! I’m Dianne Davis, and this website has a great selection of fabric, thread, batting, and more, along with a project blog of things I’ve made.

I started sewing on my mom’s lap as a child and have been sewing ever since. I started making apparel in junior high home economics class and have never stopped creating. I continued to take sewing classes through high school and college, majoring in home economics with an emphasis on housing and interior design. During high school and college, I made everything from clothing for family members and costumes for school musicals to curtains, draperies, pillows and other home decor and craft items.

I started quilting in 2014 and started machine embroidery in 2016. Like many of us, I watched a Missouri Star Quilt Company video of Jenny Doan on Facebook, showing how easy it is to get started in quilting, and I decided to try it. Since then, I’ve been in what I call “a very happy black hole” and have made over 40 twin to king-size quilts, countless child and lap-sized quilts, and other quilted items, including Christmas tree skirts, Christmas stockings, ornaments, and more.

For years, I wanted to learn cake decorating, and in 2014, I took classes at Michael’s with several co-workers and loved it. I learned the typical buttercream basics, sculpting with fondant and making intricate gum-paste flowers. I don’t decorate cakes and cupcakes as often as I sew, but when I do, it’s usually to celebrate one of our grandkiddo’s birthdays or for a charity bake sale.

I’ve been a member of the Ozarks Piecemakers Quilt Guild since 2018 and served on the guild’s board of directors from February 2020 to May 2023. I continue to volunteer with the guild by making baby quilts for Newborns in Need, child-size quilts for the guild’s Squad Car Quilts project, and doll-size quilts donated to Crosslines each year for their toy drive.  I manage the guild’s social media accounts, help with advertising tasks for the guild’s biannual OPQG Quilt Show, and my developer and I built the guild’s website. I create and manage all content and the online store.

My career is in advertising/marketing, and I’ve owned and managed a full-service advertising agency since 1997. Visit DianneDavisConsulting.com and DDCpromotions.com to learn more about my full-time job managing website content for many clients, sell screen printed and embroidered apparel and promotional items and provide an arrary of other advertising and marketing services.

Happy creating,

Dianne
