Class, Workshop & Open Sew Policies

We’re excited to host you in our store classroom!

Class/Workshop and Open Sew Policies & General Information

A class is any period of instruction on a specific technique (binding, for example) or a series of classes, such as Beginning Quilting 101. A workshop is an event focused on sewing a particular project, such as a table runner, pillow or bag.

Class or Workshop Fee—This fee covers instruction only. Materials, patterns, and tools are purchased separately. The fee is due at the time of registration. Any kit or supplies for the class must be purchased before the event’s start time. We aim for everyone to have their machine set up, kit, and materials in hand, settled, and ready to start at the event’s start time. Supplies or materials specifically needed for a class or workshop can be purchased in the store. A 10% store discount will be given on tools, notions or fabric purchased specifically for the class or workshop. These can be purchased either before or on the day of the event.

Enrollment—We can comfortably accommodate eight people per class or workshop or 20 for a lecture or trunk show. We will schedule additional dates/times for each class or workshop based on student/participant interest.

Student Cancellations—You may cancel your participation in a class or workshop with a 48-hour notice of the event’s start. You will receive a full refund of your class fee using the same payment method used when you enrolled. The fee is not refundable if you cancel the class within 48 hours of the event. If you need to cancel, call or text the store at 417.233.1379 or send a message through the contact form on this website.

Store Cancellations—Situation #1. The store will be closed each time Nixa Schools closes for inclement weather. If a class or workshop is scheduled on an inclement weather day, you will be given a rain check for when the event is rescheduled or a full refund (your choice). Situation #2. If the class or workshop is scheduled due to other unforeseeable circumstances, including power outages, instructor illness, or other events, you will be given a rain check for when the event is rescheduled or a full refund (your choice).
