Optimus & Nolan Save the Day

My grandson, Nolan, is five years old and a huge fan of the Transformers. His favorite character is Optimus Prime. This is a navy blue hoodie (Christmas gift) that I customized with machine embroidery. I purchased the Optimus Prime transformer embroidery file online and then I added the text using Embrillance Essentials. The font I used was purchased from Designs by JuJu (DBJJ). The lighting in the photo of the completed hoodie isn't good as the hoodie looks black and not navy but that's nothing I'm going to sweat since you can see the hoodie color in the in-process photo.   :)

The design fit perfectly in my 5" x 7" hoop. Due to the heavy stitch density on a fleece item, I used Sulky's Totally Stable iron-on stabilizer to ensure the fabric didn't stretch during embroidery and then two layers of Sulky's Stiffy tear-away stabilizer and then floated the hoodie in the hoop with large quilting straight pins. Once the embroidery was complete I covered the inside threads with Sulky's Tender Touch, cover-a-stitch product. It turned out great and Nolan loved it.
