My First Vinyl Cutting Project

I bought a Silhouette Studio cutter, and a bunch of vinyl, from a friend who was moving and downsizing her collection of crafting toys. The cutter is in like-new condition. Since I know enough about Photoshop, Illustrator and Embrillance Essentials embroidery software to be dangerous, I guessed I’d be able to figure out the Silhouette software, too. After watching a couple of beginner tutorials found on YouTube, I started working on the mailbox project.

We live out in the country right where a backwoods road meets a county highway—at a curve. A driver was distracted and didn’t make the curve, went airborne over the median then took out our mailbox when landing in the ditch. My hubby went to the local hardware store with instructions to get the largest mailbox available—because Amazon keeps delivering goodies to our house.

The letters and numbers turned out great. Our giant mailbox is perfect. 🙂
